THE CLAM – SIMPLE SEAFOOD FOR PREPPY VILLAGERS

The scallop crudo has a full flavored Hazelnut oil and adds a creamy depth to the dish. super tender and fresh. Best scallop dish of the year.

The newly opened “New England” Seafood restaurant “The Clam” is a cosy little neighborhood gem in the West Village. Inside it is pretty modest with a simple exposed brick room and an understated seashell iradescent tiled ceiling. The food delivers “nice” basic seafood that is fresh and modern with a few standout dishes.

Seafood is always a great option for a night out and The Clam offers a medium sized menu with fish and shellfish of American and Italian preparations.

Specialties are meant to be the Fried Belly Clam and Lobster Sandwich and the Spaghetti and Clams that were a little heavy for us so we opted for some yummy Raw Oysters and full flavored little neck clams. The Flounder is nice and the bland crab cakes should be skipped. Maybe we need to return to order some other dishes. Seafood is always great when you want a healthy dinner so I want to like this place.

MUST TRY:

Scallop Crudo with Rhubarb, Hazelnuts, Chives and Lime.

Oysters and Little Neck Clams

Delicate crab cake was a little under flavored. Slaw salad was refreshing but boring.

Keep it cool and preppy with a Paul Smith men’s blazer, H&M embellished minidress and simple Coach suede Boots.

What to Wear?

Keep it cute and preppy “New England” style with a well cut oversized blazer and then mix it up with some downtown West Village charm with a pair of cute ankle boots and a short skirt. Simple and understated.
