THE BEST SECRET RESTAURANT IN SOHO- ROUGE ET BLANC

Whether you want a secret date spot, a easy reservation or some thoughtful Vietnamese- French fusion cooking, Rouge et Blanc is a Soho “neighborhood” restaurant that delivers excellent food at moderate prices and a secret sexy atmosphere.

The chef, Macks Collins offers an east-meets-west French and Vietnamese-inspired menu. The restaurant has the look and feel of a French colonial tavern from 1940s Saigon. Very cool and romantic with lacquered asian bamboo and teak furniture.

The dishes are exotic and conceptual, great for foodies and deliver a lot of value for the price.

MUST TRY DISHES

Vietnamese Beef Cheek – rich and wet meat in a delicious sauce.

– Scallion Rice Crêpe with Crispy Duck and Pork with Hoisin Vinaigrette – great texture, sweet and meaty flavor.

– Crispy Broccoli and Kale Sesame, Ginger and Yuzukosho – think more like a chip than a vegetable.

Fried Brussel Sprouts Korean Chili Vinaigrette, Corn Nuts

Fried Brussel Sprouts
Korean Chili Vinaigrette, Corn Nuts, too fried for me for a vegetable. Interesting salty and vinegar flavors.

Vietnamese Shrimp with Tom Yum Soup

Vietnamese Shrimp with Tom Yum Soup was tasty and spicy. Great for warming up or if you have a cold. Burn it out!

Braised Lamb with tomatoes, radish, Barbecue Sauce

Braised Lamb with tomatoes, radish, Barbecue Sauce was tender and delicious. I would recommend the beef cheek as well.

Vietnamese Beef Cheek Rice Cakes, Green Papaya, Roasted Enoki

Vietnamese Beef Cheek
Rice Cakes, Green Papaya and Roasted Enoki was decadent and rich, full flavored and we LOVED it

What to wear? How about a high crew neck silk dress, with a exotic pattern. Anything that makes you feel you are going to the far east.

I work in Soho and I’m always looking for a place to go away from the crowds. That beef cheek is mine when I go. Looks cool.
