Da Silvano is one of NYC’s classic Italian restaurants located on the border of the West Village and SoHo—right in the heart of Greenwich Village with a huge outdoor seating area great for people watching in the summer months.
The menu consists of Italian specialties from antipasti to pasta to grilled fish and meat. Like Bar Pitti (another Italian favorite which is next door) it has a huge daily special boards showcasing the fresh ingredients of the season.
Overall the food is good but expensive, the ambience is nice since you are sitting outside under large trees and people watching. The service is very friendly and helpful, but some may say to follow the crowds (you will have to wait longer) and sit at the more casual Bar Pitti next door for better food at lower prices.
Chef and owner Silvano Marchetto in his recognizable white-haired ponytail has run the joint since 1975. Marchetto was one of the first to introduce Americans to Tuscan cuisine and is responsible for bringing many of Italy’s finest products to the forefront of Italian cuisine in America.
Must Try:
-Fiddlehead Ferns
-Grilled Sardines
-Salumi

Grilled $90 ribeye steak was so teeny for the price and only average in texture and flavor… great garlicky spinach..
What Teresa Wore:
Since you are sitting outside wear a upscale but casual and playful dress like this cigarette dress from Saunder and fun mega jewelry from Erickson Beamon Rocks. Kinda Glam, Kinda Rock and Roll.. Very Da Silvano 😉
