Running becomes an addiction once you get over the first 3-6 months of getting your body used to the increase in breathing and using new muscles.
For a girl who NEVER worked out before I was 19, I love running now and probably fit in four or five 40 minute runs per week. Its great for using your workout time efficiently since you can start as soon as you leave your doorstep.
It is great because its a natural mood lifter, energizer and burns off calories. I also think the outdoor aspect of running gives you a spiritual connection with nature from being by the water or trees. Seeing the different seasons throughout the year makes you appreciate all of them since you are much more aware of your surroundings when you run.
Its also great for alone time and helps clear your head or allows you to get fresh ideas and perspective on personal or business situations.
Running burns about 600 calories per hour and is meant to be great for strengthening your bones and muscle tone.
Go on and get a good playlist for a brisk run or learn something from an audiobook and an easy jog!
