Its steamy and hot here in NYC in July, so what’s better than some light fresh seafood at affordable prices. Because Pearl ‘s menu relies largely on what is available each day, all eyes are on the blackboards during lunch and dinner. Dishes range from Oysters, Littleneck Clams, Crab, Bouillabaisse and fresh grilled Seafood.
The cooking is relatively straight forward, fresh, simply prepared with lots of parsely and lemon that errs it on the “mediterranean” side of New England cooking.
Inside the West Village cosy Pearl Oyster Bar are a collection of antique oil lamps from the flea markets in Maine. Even the color scheme Chef Charles chose is cooling -gray, silver, pale blue and sand-is meant to reflect colors you find at the beach. The service is casual and pleasant and this is perfect for a chill dinner date or a small group of 4.
Must Try:
-Oysters (duh, of course!)
-Bouillabaisse with lobster, fish, mussels and clams in a red broth
– Fresh grilled fish
– Grilled vegetables

Bouillabaisse with Mussels, Clams, Scallops, Lobster and more in a yummy mediterranean tomato saffron broth that is clean and flavorful.
What to Wear:
This may be the one time I will admit… I did NOT wear the right dress to this restaurant! LOL. Oysters get me too romantic, what can I say… Rather than this belted lace off-the-shoulder number, I would go with a more casual look, like cute jeans and a cute denim or chambre button up shirt and some brogues.
