Andrew Carmellini is one of my favorite chefs and his newish French mega-bistro Lafayette is going to be a winner. Modern, and light versions of French classic dishes served within a huge cool space.

The service can be hit and miss, but hey, the moody hostess almost makes you feel like you are in Paris.. 😉

Its great for brunch or dinner and has a menu that can appeal to everyone with common Chicken Paillard to Truffle Scallops in Sweet Potato Sauce for the more adventurous. The execution of the food is very good. Great steaks, fluffy eggs, delicate fish as you would expect for this slightly higher price point.

Its great to meet friends and the coffee is made with love.

Here I think you should dress a bit parisian and a bit downtown cool with elevated fabrics like leather and add a cool jacket. Brogues are a great way to make your outfit dressed down and cooler but still look fashionable.
