FELIDIA- FANCY UPTOWN ITALIAN FEELS LIKE CASHMERE

Felidia ambience, uptown, old school

Felidia, the famous Upper East Side restaurant of top chef Lidia Bastianich, partner with Mario Battali is a classic I had never tried.

This expensive restaurant features heavy, creative interpretations of Italian cooking. The dishes are relatively rich and feel like French technique is used on Italian cooking. The dishes are very tasty and visually appealing but for a healthy girl it was a little greasy for my liking. The portion sizes are moderate and service is good. The wine list is diverse and well appointed at any price range.

I recommend the Polipo (Octopus) and the Manzo (Steak) as top dishes.

Recommended if you want a posh winter meal uptown.

If I were to choose an outfit for Felidia, it would be something sophisticated, mature and since its such a wintery dark restaurant, a touch of cashmere to feel cosy but luxurious.
