CHEZ SARDINE – COOL ASIAN HIPSTER RESTAURANT MASHES UP FLAVORS
Uni Chopped Beef Sushi – This nigiri was super textured interesting and delicious. Must try!
Trout Belly Special – With a sweet and smokey BBQ sauce it was one of the best dishes. Moist tender sweet and meaty
Miso-Maple Salmon Head – For the house best item it fell short. Too little meat, very gelatinous but great flavors overall. If done on a hamachi collar would be a winner.
Wagyu Steak With Marrow Butter – Crispy outside, tender interior. Soft, salty a bit too much butter overall
Caramel Ice cream – Light, more like honey ice cream. Low brow but fun Cheerios sprinkled on top
What to wear to Chez Sardine? You gotta be purposely undone with the hipster kids, but make sure its comfortable because you will be sitting at TINY tables (it is the West Village after all..)
Keep it cool with a flannel shirt and disheveled hair= Hipster
Chez Sardine, the cool West Village foodies’ micro-restaurant with cool waiters, and a surprising asian twist to comfort hipster food.
The sushi was definitely a highlight of the meal and the textures and combinations of rough and refined ingredients showcased what a diverse view the chef has. Interesting and recommended dinner choice.
