CHALK POINT KITCHEN FARM-TO-TABLE + A SEXY DOWNSTAIRS BAR

Chalk Point Kitchen just opened and its about time there was a cool hangout in Soho where I live!

Taking over the Dalloway space, my friend, restauranteur Matt Levine is keeping on trend with farm to table in a hearty style and fusion of flavors. He is passionate and proud about his local and natural ingredients like Hudson Valley Chicken and New York farmers market vegetables.

The new trend of knowing where your food was grown, how it was grown and how it affects your health is awesome to support.  Also buying from local farms means your carbon footprint from shipping is smaller and you are supporting the small guys who care more about their farming and products than large corporations.

But politics aside, Chalk Point Kitchen is cool and fun.  The fun kitschy dining room has wooden farm tables and chairs, wacky retro plates and plaid napkins.

The food is wonderfully thoughtful and has Asian and Scandinavian influences. The moody wooden bar downstairs is great for a pre or post dinner drink with large armchairs and secret sexy corners.

The service is well trained and very helpful and the drink list brings back some old world cocktail flavors you should try.

Its also going to be the new daytime hangout for people to work, coffee, lunch and network in Soho.

MUST TRY: Arctic Char,  Hudson Valley Chicken,  Butterscotch Pudding.

Icelandic Arctic Char with market radish, yuzu and grapefruit was my favorite dish. Perfectly cooked Char was soft and tender with a crisp skin, balanced with astringent crisp radishes and a flavorful cream sauce

This amazing Butterscotch Pudding has duck fat popcorn (just tasted salty but the idea is great) with Vanilla ice-cream. This dish plated amazing and tasted even better. Awesome variety of textures and salty and sweet flavors.
