AMARANTH – POSH BRUNCH BEFORE A STROLL IN CENTRAL PARK

Happy July 4th! I hope you all have great plans to enjoy the long weekend and if you are staying in the city, here is a great option for a chic uptown brunch near Central Park.

Amaranth has delicious high-quality Mediterranean cuisine: a fusion of original Italian food and French food and is great for people watching. It is located in the heart of the most famous shopping strip of the Upper East Side of Manhattan and few steps from gorgeous Central Park.  The scene is very Euro and moneyed Upper-Eastside with nice hospitality and the highest quality of ingredients that they use in their recipes including truffles, parmigiano and fresh meat and seafood.  A large portion of specialty items that they serve are imported from Italy and France.

The room is great for a date and groups with a elegant bistro dining room inside and a few tables outside under an awning.

Must Try:

– Baby Artichoke and Avocado Salad

– Grilled Orata Fish

– Tuna Tartare

– Steak Tartare

The Bridge in Central Park

The Bridge in Central Park only 1 minute walk away

Baby Artichokes And Avocado Salad

Baby Artichokes And Avocado Salad is an immaculate dish. Soft, creamy, crunchy fresh artichoke with the flavor of parmesan and pesto. MUST TRY

Thin sliced octopus, frisee, cherry tomato, black olives, orange, lemon, extra virgin olive oil

Thin sliced octopus, frisee, cherry tomato, black olives, orange, lemon, extra virgin olive oil is light and delectable

Peppercorn sauce, served with organic mixed greens

Steak with Peppercorn sauce, served with organic mixed greens was a little dry. I think the Steak Tagliata dish is better

With sauteed spinach

Grilled Orata with garlic sauteed spinach is simple and elegant

What to Wear

What to Wear:

Get a little feminine for a fancy brunch and a stroll in the park. Wear something like this printed bird dress by H&M, a vintage belt, and sunglasses from a street fair – thats right, you can look uptown without the prices!

I wore Haviana’s to walk around the park but if you are lunching maybe a cute pair of flats would be more sophisticated.
